We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Software QA Engineer with expertise in ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance to join our quality assurance team..

Responsibilities

As a Software QA Engineer specializing in ADA compliance, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with developers and business analysts to understand ADA requirements and translating them into test plans and test cases.
  • Executing test cases to ensure compliance with ADA standards, including Section 508, WCAG 2.0, and WCAG 2.1.
  • Conducting both web and mobile testing for ADA compliance, focusing on recording keyboard navigation, contrast ratio, dark and bright high contrast, and other specified aspects.
  • Utilizing assistive technologies such as JAWS or NVDA to simulate the experience of users with disabilities.
  • Addressing ADA requirements related to user input, error prevention, motion actuation, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Providing expertise in various disabilities, including blindness, motor skill disorders, color blindness, visually impaired, epilepsy, ADHD, learning disabilities, elder users, dyslexia, and more.
  • Collaborating with developers and designers to implement and test features that enhance accessibility for users with diverse needs.
  • Conducting regular assessments to ensure ongoing ADA compliance as the software evolves.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience (2+ years) working on ADA compliance, with a deep understanding of Section 508, WCAG 2.0, and WCAG 2.1 standards.
  • Experience in writing requirements and creating test plans and test cases for ADA features.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies such as JAWS or NVDA.
  • Proven experience in meticulously conducting ADA compliance testing for both mobile and web platforms. This includes a comprehensive assessment of various aspects such as keyboard navigation, contrast ratio, and field highlighting to ensure a seamless and accessible user experience across diverse devices and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of specific ADA requirements related to motion actuation, error prevention, and user input.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the development team, business analysts, and designers.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving ADA standards and guidelines.
  • Understanding of diverse user needs and the ability to address specific challenges related to various disabilities.
